Calhoun County has instituted the WENS Emergency Notification System - an ultra high-speed telephone communication service for emergency notifications.

A Bachelor prepared Social Worker and Family Development Specialist are available to identify strengths and weaknesses of individuals and families using a case management approach.

Homemaker Services
The Homemaker is a member of a professional team who is trained, screened and certified before providing care in the home.

Home Care
SKILLED HOME CARE SERVICES provide support to individuals who are sick, disabled, or convalescing at home. Anyone who is concerned may make a referral for services.

Locally Grown Food

Locally grown food is a big push in public health. It is healthy and good for the environment. Calhoun County hosts several farmers markets where you can buy fresh, local and healthy produce and baked goods.

  • Rockwell City-3:30-5:30 Thursdays starting June 4 at the Depot
  • Lake City-4-6 Tuesdays starting June 4 on the square
  • Manson-4-6 Tuesdays at Watertower Park starting July 7, through Sept. 27.

Rockwell City has received a couple of grants to start a community garden. If you hare interested in a plot for your family or helping with groups planting, give us a call! Many seeds, tools and a tiller are all provided, as well as water and hoses.
